aside from having a sheer drop off the mountain on one side and a deep rut on the other,
forging streams is an integral part of this journey
(did i mention we are going up the mountain to picnic at a waterfall?
picnic being a euphemism for bologna sandwiches and beer)

and...
so, it seems,
is having the road washed away
to get by this area we had to dig the road wider on one side
and chop off a tree limb to make a support for the wheels of the atv on the other
thank god for these rhinos, they really can pull through anything

and...
then there is also nursing livestock to contend with
at a certain point the only feasible modes of transportation became:
atvs,
livestock
walking
and yes,
it was scary at times
